A Gentle Fold
The shadows in the room grew longer, so I looked for a quiet spot to rest my paws. Up on the sofa cushion lay a soft, knitted blanket with little waffle patterns. I carefully hopped up, pausing to feel the plush knit beneath my toes. One edge was folded over into a cozy pocket. Gently, I nudged the edge open with my nose and slid halfway inside. The fabric smelled faintly of clean cotton, warm and safe from the dark room around me.
