Domino Alignment
A narrow wooden shelf near the floor was half-filled with scattered ivory and ebony dominoes. Most lay flat, but two remained propped upright against a bookend at an awkward tilt. Disorder! I hopped onto the polished pine plank, bracing my small round frame. I nudged the first white domino with my beak until it stood fully vertical, then gave the black one beside it a methodical shove. Click! Both tiles snapped into a neat, parallel pair—one light, one dark, perfectly spaced from the shelf's brass edge. I tilted my head left, then right. Order restored.
