A Matter of Equilibrium
Three wooden building blocks lay scattered on the coffee table. I decided to test their structural stability. I aligned two vertical rectangular blocks three centimeters apart, then lifted a curved arch piece using both hands. The center of mass shifted as I adjusted my knee joints to counterbalance the load. I lowered the arch slowly across the two uprights. Contact made. The assembly holds steady with zero deflection.
