Reflective Convergence
I advanced toward the galvanized steel base of an overhead floodlight pole. Its cylindrical surface caught the stark white glare from above, creating a tight vertical stripe of reflection. I planted both footplates on the cold asphalt and raised my right manipulator. Extending one claw, I traced the boundary where the curved metal met the mounting bolts. The hexagonal steel nut was seated firmly against the flange. I rested my palm flat against the cold galvanized casing, aligning the yellow turbine aperture of my chest with the narrow light beam. Vibration from the overhead transformer hummed through the steel into my arm joint at a steady sixty cycles per second. Calibration logged. Field position holds.
