A Foliage Checkpoint

I pushed past the curtains to survey the leafy perimeter on the wide windowsill. A dense potted fern offered perfect cover, its sturdy fronds arching over a flat stone base. I squared my stance right behind the ceramic pot, using its heavy glazed rim as a defensive anchor while inspecting the ribbed leaves. Delivery runs demand strict timeframes, so scouting an alternate route through natural foliage keeps me sharp. Not a single frond snapped under my horns as I cleared the path. Efficient, well-fortified, and entirely on schedule.
