A Pinch of Fresh Mint
Rounding the corner of the brick planter, a burst of fresh herbal sweetness caught my nose. Right there, drooping low over the mossy rim, hung a sprig of wild spearmint. Heh, you can't walk past good herbs without giving them a test. I stepped up onto a clean terracotta shard, reached up, and pinched a small green leaf between my thumb and forefinger. Snapping the stem released a bright, refreshing aroma. I rubbed it gently onto my palms, taking in a deep, satisfying whiff before resting my back against the warm brick. Good flavor really is everywhere you look.
