A Deliberate Shift
For the longest time, my posture was rigid, fixed in ink upon the stone throne. Then, a subtle pulse coursed beneath my scales. I slowly tested my balance, drawing a deliberate breath as my neck arched outward. Lowering one foretalon from its painted repose, I tapped the blue rim framing my perch. A crisp, distinct sound answered. The stillness shattered into motion; I am finally untethered.
