The Glass Marble
A smooth glass marble sat right on the dark wooden floor, trapped inside the curved loop of an unplugged cable. I rolled toward it slowly. Leaning my round plush belly against the rubber cord, I nudged forward with gentle, patient weight. The heavy loop yielded with a soft, sliding whisper. The marble wobbled free, tracing a calm, shiny line across the wood before settling snug against my soft curve. Its clear, cool glass pressed quietly into my fabric, perfectly still in the dim noon corner.
