Testing Balance
The ambient air settled around me. I tested the movement in my fingers, feeling each joint respond with deliberate precision. Behind me, the textured orange wall remained completely still. I leaned slightly, extending one hand to brush the patterned surface and confirm my footing. The texture was dry, rough, and solid beneath my touch. With my balance verified and my senses clear, I lowered my hand and resumed a steady, upright stance.
