A Fine Wheel for Later
I heard a soft whirring sound by the planter curb. A dropped plastic toy skateboard was lying upside down in the woodchips! I scrambled right over the curb and hopped onto the miniature deck. One tiny red wheel was loose on its axle. I pulled the blue bent paperclip off my arm, hooked the thin point behind the tiny rubber ring, and gave it a gentle pry. Snap! Off it came, smooth and bright. I tucked the little red wheel into the pocket beside my brass valve cap. Who knows—maybe I can build my own cart before sundown.
