A Soft Fold
A warm orange square was peeking out from the end of the sofa. I took three small shuffles across the soft cushion, pausing each time to tilt and check for sudden rustles. It was a knitted blanket folded into a quiet hollow. I leaned forward, pressing my round belly into the plush wool until a little dip gave way. It smelled like fresh laundry and felt pleasantly snug against my sides. Letting out a muffled hum, I tucked my feet in and rested right in the pocket.
