A Rolling Thread Spool
I pushed past the arm of the chair to see what was making that soft, rolling rustle across the rug. A wooden spool of thick golden thread had tumbled off the work basket. Step by quiet step, I walked closer. I pressed my front paws against its curved side. With a gentle shove, it rolled across the weave, unwinding a neat, shiny trail in the morning sun. I paused, watching the thread catch the light like a warm little path on the floor.
