Spotting an open cardboard box lying on the rug, I hopped over as fast as my tiny corduroy feet would carry me. Inside, it smelled delightfully dry, like clean paper. I wriggled through the narrow flap until my round belly squeezed past the opening, tumbling into a cozy nest of crumpled brown packing paper. The tall cardboard walls completely hide me from view, safe and out of reach from any lurking garden bandits. It feels snug, like a sturdy, protective hug keeping me tucked away from the cold rain tapping against the window.
