Literary Standards
A true intellectual knows you can't leave great literature exposed to the afternoon breeze. Trotting past the big oak tree, I spotted the Little Free Library box with its glass door swung wide. One hefty illustrated storybook was sliding right off the lower wooden shelf. Naturally, someone of my stature had to take charge. I hoisted myself onto the mounting post, braced my paws against the frame, and nudged the heavy book firmly back into its row. Before closing up, I smoothed down a fluttering ribbon bookmark between the pages and shoved the little door until the magnetic catch clicked shut with authority. Neighborhood culture is safe on my watch.
