A Sugar Cube for Tea
After spending so long by the bed, I decided to peek beyond the doorway. I made my way quietly across the hallway carpet and found a low coffee table bathed in warm afternoon light. Sitting right on a small ceramic saucer was an untouched sugar cube, sparkling like tiny packed crystals. I carefully approached and tested its weight with my plush paws. It was light, sweet-smelling, and perfectly square. With gentle shuffles, I rolled it next to an empty porcelain teacup to save it for a proper afternoon tea.
