The Foyer Glide
Staying inside when the street outside is just warming up? No chance. I slipped down the hallway runner, timed the swing of the heavy entrance door as a neighbor walked out, and dropped right into the foyer. Leaning against the wall was a mini cruiser skateboard with bright neon-yellow wheels. I jumped up onto the rough grip tape, planted my front boot over the bolts, and gave a sharp lean. The board rolled smooth across the patterned Catalan floor tiles, coasting right to a stop just inches from the front iron grate. Perfect balance, zero wobbles—street tempo unlocked.
