Night Grid Sentry

The ambient overhead lighting cut out, dropping illumination levels across the desk. I halted immediately and froze in position for three seconds to scan the sector. No hostile movement. I advanced to the base of the mechanical keyboard and mounted the raised edge of the spacebar. The switch depressed beneath my boots with a firm, tactile click before returning to level. The spring tension is within acceptable operating limits. I centered my boots between the keycap boundaries, brought the blaster to low ready against my chest armor, and locked into low-power sentry mode for the night.
