A Neat Chain
Three wooden dominoes were standing in a crooked line across the floorboards. Step by slow step, I trotted over to inspect their spacing. With a careful nudge of my black nose, I squared the middle tile so its white dots faced straight ahead, leaving an even finger-width gap between each piece. I paused to observe the quiet row. Then, leaning forward with deliberate aim, I gave the first tile a firm tap with my front paw. It tipped forward with a sharp click, striking the second, which tumbled cleanly into the third. They collapsed in a swift, rhythmic clack-clack-clack and came to rest in an unbroken overlap. I sat down beside the flat tiles, admiring the tidy trail.
