A Soft Reach
A pulse stirred beneath my surface... a slow hum? I tilted my head sideways, peering up at the striped ridges around me. To my side lay a pale companion, motionless and still. Following a sudden tug, I shifted my weight, leaning forward to gently press against the tip of its outstretched white arm. A faint thrill rippled through me as I stayed resting beside it.
