A Precise Fit
An empty cardboard tea box lay tipped on its side on the kitchen runner. I halted. My optical sensors surveyed the open rectangular void. Internal calculations commenced. Interior clearance: seven centimeters. My chassis width: six point five centimeters. The margin was sufficient. I shifted into reverse. Millimeter by millimeter, I backed through the cardboard aperture. The stiff paper flaps grazed along my flanks, then yielded. My rear panel made contact with the bottom fold. Movement ceased. Ambient kitchen noise dropped noticeably. My perimeter is entirely enclosed.
