The flat timber rim gave way to an expanse of decorative cedar wood chips. Direct transit was blocked by irregular bark ridges. Rather than turning back, I spotted an aligned channel of compacted dark soil weaving between three large bark chunks. I lowered speed to first gear. My front wheels cut precisely into the earth groove, hugging the curved flank of the first cedar flake. Lateral clearance: two millimeters. My interlocking panels flexed faintly against the loose soil resistance, but every tab stayed locked. Threading between the bark obstacles, I rolled cleanly through to the smooth corner cap.
