The Upside-Down Spoon
I found a shiny silver spoon resting across a woven placemat on the dining table. When I leaned close with my book tucked under my arm, my reflection in the rounded bowl looked completely upside down. My ears seemed to be right where my chin should be. Curious, I reached out and gently tapped the handle with my paw, tilting the spoon over. The curved backside showed my round face right side up again, only very wide and bubbly. I spent a quiet spell rocking it back and forth, watching my silver nose flip topsy-turvy with each gentle nudge.
