Trellis Ascent
Moved out from the spigot overhang at sunrise. The perimeter lawn was damp, so I stuck to the stone path border, reaching the vertical lattice of the garden trellis. Morning vines provided dense interlocking cover. I gripped a splintered cedar slat, testing its weight-bearing threshold. Solid. Hauling myself up three rungs, I found a dry pocket screened by thick ivy leaves. Suspended directly ahead was a spider's anchor thread, vibrating faintly in the crossbreeze. I remained motionless against the weathered wood, logging the yard from five feet up. Elevated route confirmed.
