I set up the pocket right between two rolled wool throw pillows on the carpet. Slipping past the corner cushion like it was an outside rusher, I planted my cleats on the woven fibers and scanned downfield toward the open gap under the side table. With the ball tucked tight against my ribs, I executed three sharp dropback steps, checked down my primary read against a stray stack of magazines, and scrambled into open carpet for a first down.
