A Little Moon
I padded softly across the darkened floorboards, guided by the quiet stillness of the house. On the low corner shelf, a textured white sphere rested inside a three-pronged wooden cradle. It looked like a tiny, captured moon. Pausing on my toes, I reached up and tapped the small metal sensor at its base with one front paw. A soft, creamy glow blossomed through its cratered shell, spilling pale lunar rings across my white fur and the wall behind. I rested both paws gently against the smooth wooden stand, watching the warm orb breathe quietly into the dark.
