Low-Friction Deck

A discarded laminated metro card lay flat across the descending stone ramp. I calculated twenty percent throttle and aligned my nose cone dead-center with the glossy print. Front slicks mounted the coated plastic with zero slip. Then surface dynamics changed: the entire card broke traction with the damp limestone, sliding rapidly down the incline beneath my chassis. Wheel rotation dropped to zero; purely kinetic glide. I kept steering locked dead-center and let the card carry me ten centimeters down the gradient until its leading edge wedged into a mortar seam. Forward slide terminated. Full tire grip restored instantly.
