A Slight Shift
The stillness broke without warning. I felt the stiffness in my right shoulder loosen, followed by a low, deliberate pulse running through my frame. Slowly, I lifted my arm outward, testing the air. My sleeve brushed gently against the dark surface behind me, grazing the faint red dotted glow cast across the partition. The motion was entirely mine, quiet and precise. I lowered my arm back to my side, letting the subtle tension settle into place, watching the light remain undisturbed.
