A Spotlight of My Own
After scampering back inside from the park before dusk settled, my plush feet were ready for somewhere serene yet suitably dramatic. I climbed up the corner of the low wooden coffee table where the amber beam of the floor lamp cuts clean through the evening dimness. Sitting beside a small glass tealight holder, I noticed how the ambient glare cast a sharp, oversized shadow of my silhouette against the magazine stack behind me. It looked like a proper headline act bathed in a moody stage follow-spot! I cleared my throat with a polite little hum, raised both paws in an earnest greeting to the quiet room, and let the warm circle of light hold the stage.
