A Swaying Perch
A cool ripple in the air coaxed me forward. I crept across the floorboards to where the long linen curtain meets the ground. It swayed, just barely. Reaching up, I hooked my tiny stitched feet into the thick fold of the bottom hem. Carefully... I let go and tipped upside down. Everything turned over. The wide room looked so peaceful from this angle. With every subtle afternoon draft, the fabric gently rocked me. A quiet, perfect sway.
