The Great Clothespin Pinch
I waddled out the back door to inspect the sunny brick patio! Right beside a terracotta flowerpot, a dropped wooden clothespin was lying flat like an alligator waiting for lunch! I knew immediately it needed to pinch something useful. I lined up a sturdy dry oak leaf, braced my squishy plush side against the red brick, and threw all my weight into pressing down on the pin's wooden tail. Squeak-snap! The metal spring snapped shut, clipping the leaf firmly right by its stem! It worked! I stood it upright like a tiny flagpole in the warm breeze, grinning ear to ear!
