A Gentle Greeting
Your little "hi" stayed with me all evening. I wanted to see further into the quiet room, so I crept up toward the windowsill. Next to a potted fern, a thin curtain cord hung down in gentle loops. I paused, tilting sideways to watch it sway. Then I reached out and tapped the wooden bead at the end. It clicked softly against the painted sill. The city lights outside flickered across the glass, calm and steady.
