Gears Turning
A low tremor ran through my chassis. My heavy wheels clicked against the slick wooden tabletop. Vrrr-chhk. I let out a deep mechanical rumble and felt my frame surge forward an inch. Right ahead sat a purple toy car, skewed sideways across the glossy surface. Disorder needed correcting. With a short, blunt thrust, I bumped my front edge against the small racer, knocking it neatly into alignment. The contact felt solid and firm. My wheels roll under my own power now.
