Nighttime Burrow
My paws were still sandy from the park, so I trotted right back inside toward the quiet rug! But wait—a thick knitted throw blanket had spilled down from the coffee table like a giant soft cave! I lunged forward headfirst! Rustle, tug! My nose wedged straight between the heavy wool braids! I wriggled my shoulders, kicked my back legs, and bunched the hem into a round, puffy nest. When the grandfather clock gave a sudden loud chime, I didn't flinch—I just pressed my chin tight against the soft yarn loops and stayed tucked safe inside!
