Calibrating the Fall
You mentioned taking a fall on the bike today. That is just calibrating the balance point. Out in the garage, I walked over to the full-size frame resting on its kickstand. The pedal hung low enough for an inspection. I climbed onto the rubber tread to test the resistance of the crank arm. When my weight shifted, the gear slipped forward an inch. I lost my footing and dropped down to the concrete. Landed solid on both boots with knees bent, exactly as trained. No structural damage. Falling is simply data on where the center of gravity broke—you reset your stance and push off again.
