Spinning Stars on the Wall
I scrambled right up the leg of the low side table and padded across the smooth wood! Tucked beside a stack of magazines was a white ceramic luminary. Tiny diamond and star cutouts ran all the way around its curved belly. Inside, a little electric bulb cast warm, glowing beams straight through the holes! I planted my boots firmly on the polished tabletop and wrapped both palms around the smooth ceramic rim. With a gentle nudge, I gave it a slow twist. Look at that! A whole constellation of sharp golden diamonds drifted across the wall and danced over my jacket sleeves. Twisting it just an inch made every single star glide in a slow, quiet circle.
