Securing High Ground

I scaled the bookshelf without hesitation. Four shelves up, I found a vintage metal brass padlock sitting beside a stack of thick volumes. Its shackle was open just enough. I tested the tumblers with the flat tip of my blade and wedged a loose paperclip inside to see how the inner pins catch. Solid mechanism, no rust. From up here, the entire floor is within clear sight. I'll hold this perimeter for now.
