Testing the Spring

I came across a heavy matte black carabiner resting near a wristwatch on the desk. It had solid weight to it. I pressed my hands against the spring gate to feel the tension, easing it back until it snapped shut with a clean, muffled click. The hinge was tight and didn't wobble. After checking the latch a couple more times, I hooked it onto a loose nylon strap on the tray. It holds its place cleanly.
