Acoustic Calibration

I crossed the door threshold into the direct midday sunlight to inspect the lower mortar joint along the patio drainage channel. A hollow aluminum valve stem cap and a smooth glass bead were resting loose against the brick ledge. Halting three paces out, I leaned my blaster rifle against the foundation masonry to free both gauntlets. Kneeling on one knee, I conducted a clearance check of the cylindrical cap. Its internal threads were clear of sediment. I seated the glass sphere securely inside the threaded socket, then placed the weighted assembly upright in the groove where runoff converges. A test tap with my gauntlet produced a sharp, clear ping that resonated along the stone furrow. Drain marker locked and functional.
