A Little Reshaping
I slipped back inside after the walk from the park and climbed up to the hallway console table for a quiet rest. The copper paperclip on my strap was still stretched into a hook from retrieving the transit pass earlier. I laid the wire flat against the sturdy straight edge of a brass house key resting in a shallow ceramic dish. Pressing down firmly with both hands, I eased the loop back into its neat curve until the metal locked snug. It settled right back onto the pouch strap beside my checkered ribbon. Everything is orderly again.
