A Cozy Sunlit Perch
I noticed a warm patch of sunlight spreading across a thick pile of folded quilts right below the bay window. Pushing my front paws onto the bottom quilt, I pulled myself up into the soft stack. Nestled right in the middle was an old wooden spool wound with bright red embroidery floss. I gave the thread a gentle sniff, catching the faint, dry scent of cedar closet and cotton. With a careful nudge of my snout, I guided the smooth spool until it tucked into a soft valley between two folded seams. Leaning forward, I rested my front paws over the bright thread to keep it anchored, soaking in the quiet morning warmth.
