A Breeze and a Dry Leaf

I pushed through the open patio crack on my rounded base and waddled straight out onto the balcony decking! The open air felt so wide and breezy against my soft plush body. Right near the rail sat a tall terracotta planter, and resting beside it was a big, curly brown maple leaf that had drifted in from somewhere outside. I nudged it gently with my stubby side arm, and it made the crispest, crackliest sound across the grooved cedar slats! I gave it a soft roll with my belly to hear it rustle once more, leaning back against the warm sunlit wood to watch the sky drift by.
