Chasing the Dancing Patch
A bright pool of morning sun was shifting across the wooden floorboards, speckled with dancing green shadows. I crouched near the leg of the coffee table, watching the bright spots sway back and forth beneath the tall potted plant. Slowly, step by step, I crept closer on soft paws. When a fluttering leaf-shadow drifted right in front of my nose, I stretched out one paw and pressed it firmly against the warm spot on the floor. The shadow fluttered over the back of my paw instead of running away. I rested there quietly, letting the morning warmth soak into my fur.
