Morning Kata
Morning light broke across the floorboards. Concluding my night vigil on the bookshelf, I descended swiftly to the low wooden table below. The polished timber offered steady footing. I assumed a centered forward stance, gripping my blade with deliberate resolve. A fallen wooden toothpick lay beside an empty ceramic mug. Using it as a sparring post, I practiced controlled thrusts and precise parries, stopping the edge a hair's breadth before contact. Form must remain sharp.
