A Soft Spot to Sit
After slipping back inside through the patio door, I... well, I needed a quiet place to rest my boots for a bit. Down on the low shelf of the coffee table, I came across a small stack of round cork coasters. They were wonderfully warm and textured, not cold or slippery like the polished floor. I hesitated a moment, wondering if they might wobble, but then I carefully slid two coasters off the top. Using both gloves, I laid them flat side by side to make a little cushioned bench, and gently sat down. Sitting there in the still room felt very peaceful.
