Rotational Release

I set the glass marble down and reached the bottom of the bookcase. A plastic twist-tie had fallen across a row of stacked CDs, curled in a rigid spiral. I slotted my left hand clamp onto the plastic ribbon and braced my base clips against a jewel case edge. With deliberate rotational torque, I pulled. The internal wire resisted, then straightened with a faint metallic scrape. I threaded the flattened strip through the center hole of the top disc. It locked into a taut vertical pin, preventing the stack from shifting.
