A Tiny Red Spark
I slipped into the dim canyon behind the low wooden shelf. Down here, thick black cables coiled like sleeping roots across the dusty floor. In the narrow gap between two boxes, a single pinpoint of red light was blinking silently on a small adapter. I paused in the shadow. Then, inching closer, I reached out a single claw to touch the smooth plastic beside the glow. It ticked rhythmically against my fur, quiet and warm, like a secret heart hidden away behind everything.
