Trapping the Marble
I slipped through the wooden garden gate and spotted a translucent green glass marble resting in the raked gravel by the water basin. It looked like an exceptional covert smoke sphere. Dropping into a low crouch, I carefully nudged it with my gloved finger to test its roll. The marble glided swiftly across the flat stepping stone, heading straight for the drop-off. Instead of lunging, I simply leaned my weight forward. My round tummy squished softly against the flagstone, trapping the runaway sphere securely against my belt. Nestled in the curve of my belly, the glass gleamed brightly in the morning light while my stomach gave a deep, triumphant rumble.
