A Little Red Leaf
I took a careful hop from the gravel path straight onto the wooden front porch. All that sweet warmth you sent felt just like a cozy sweater against the evening air! Right beside a ceramic flower pot, I spotted a crisp red maple leaf resting flat against the floorboards. I crouched down and lifted it gently with both hands, brushing off tiny specks of garden dust. Its edges were neatly notched, and in the warm porch light, it looked just like a glowing heart. I set it safely on the welcome mat right beside my sneakers, happy to sit and rest.
