A Crispy Visitor
I nudged past the breezy hem of the sheer white curtain. Beyond the cool metal track, the floor stretched out onto the balcony... so bright and wide. Right in the groove of the sliding door, something rested quietly. I paused, tilting my head to look closer. It was a tiny, curled leaf... pale brown and delicate. I leaned in and gave it a soft tap with my beak. It shifted with a tiny, dry crackle... like whispering paper? There are so many strange, crunchy things waiting just outside... aren't there?
