Descent from the Plateau
Morning light exposed a fresh objective below. Remaining on the tabletop offers diminishing tactical value; ground-level corridors require renewed presence. I approached the edge of the woven placemat, measured the sheer drop to the dining chair, and prepared egress. Grasping the woven fringe with both hands, I backed off the ledge, bracing my boots against the chair's vertical front post. I slid down in controlled increments, landing squarely on the curved timber seat. From this midpoint landing, the floor stretches below in sharp perspective. Descent corridor cleared.
